Arutchelvar Dr. N. Mahalingam Memorial Chess Scholarship — offered by Pollachi Taluk Chess Players Association to chess players from Tamil Nadu. Applications are made on a printed form and sent to us by post.

Who can apply

Eligibility criteria

The applicant must be a chess player from Tamil Nadu. Applications from players living outside Tamil Nadu cannot be considered.
The applicant must be an active chess player. Membership of the Association is not required.
The application must be made on the Association’s official form, completely filled in.
The form must carry the applicant’s signature and the signature of one certifier: an Arbiter, a Coach, or the Secretary.
A self-attested copy of the Aadhaar card and a bonafide certificate must be enclosed. A FIDE ID proof must also be enclosed if the applicant has a FIDE ID.
Applications must be submitted on or before 20 December 2026. Incomplete, unsigned, or late applications may not be considered.
The Association’s decision on every application is final.

Step 1

Download the PDF below and print it on A4 paper (2 pages).
Step 2
Fill it in
Complete every section in block letters and stick a recent passport-size photograph in the box on page 1.
Step 3
Get it signed
Sign it yourself, then have it signed by one certifier: an Arbiter, a Coach, or the Secretary.
Step 4
Attach your documents
Enclose a self-attested Aadhaar copy, your bonafide certificate, and a FIDE ID proof if you have one.
Step 5
Send it by post
Post the form with the documents to the Association’s address shown on this page.

Applications are accepted by post only. Please keep copies of everything you send. Your personal documents are used only to assess your application — see our Privacy Policy.
